The sites around here have been crazy. The colors that light the sky in the day and night are none we have ever seen. Our cars and driveway have an eerie layer of black ash. The air quality is such that we have done no outdoor activities since Sunday. Dave and I had two additional days off this week. We feel EXTREMELY blessed that this has been our experience with the devastating fires that have attacked our county. We know so many who have had very different experiences. A number of David’s colleagues have not been allowed to return to their homes, they are not even sure if they have homes to go home to. We have friends in Fallbrook who are in the same situation. We know that if you are out of town accurate details of the fire locations have been confusing to say the least. The reality is that much of SD has burned but some how we live in a pocket of the county that is relatively untouched. We would love for you to extend your thoughts and prayers to the families who do not have homes to return to and who are still in shelters or bunking with friends. There are many families who could use a few extra prayers tonight. Thanks to all those who fought the fires and who made donations to the families who were evacuated.

SD in Need of Prayers

We are praying. My sister Chris and her family have been evacuated all week but luckily their house is still okay. Some friends of my parents lost their home in Fallbrook also. We hope and pray it ends soon!
